Agriculture, Water and Action for Rural development [AWARD] is established in 1991 as a secular voluntary organization to support committed gross root level NGOs who had developed rapport with the rural communities but lacked the necessary technical expertise to implement rural development projects. Award was registered in 1993 under the Indian Public charitable Trust Act. Award work with and in support of the government of India and for the people without regard for caste, creed, religion and nationality.
